The Treasure of the Greek Language 

The aim of the "Thesavros tes Hellenikes Glosses" Institute is the electronic recording and the diachronic research of the works of Greek authors from the time of Homer to the present day and their integration in a unified database.

The creation of this constantly enriched database with all written text of the Greek language constitutes the foundation for the research and the study in depth of our civilization in all fields of knowledge - philosophy, literature, history, theology, law, medicine, mathematics, e.t.c.

Rare and forgotten books, unpublished texts of priceless value, are coming back to light and become property of our nation and of the entire civilized world.

With the search engine "Thesavros©", the researchers have the possibility of a diachronic, synchronic, comparative research with amazing briskness and ease.

The project of the "Thesavros tes Hellenikes Glosses" constitutes a contemporary, concrete and scholarly approach to the eternal values the Greek spirit expresses through the ages. It secures forever the precious treasures of our language and makes them available worldwide.

Every possible effort has been made so that the electronic material (CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, Internet) can be reached by libraries, universities, teachers, students and researchers who want to learn our language and study our civilization in depth.

The Institute participates in conferences to train the educators in the use of the Thesavros' database not only for the tuition of the Greek Language but also for other scientific fields and has helped and trained many students, professors and researchers in the use of Thesavros' database.
